The world of Alternate Identities view point on mutants. In the world of Alternate Identities, there is no mutant hysteria or any abnormal bias or prejudice against those with super-powers, innate or not. While there are many ways in which heroes and villains have received their abilities, natural mutation being one of them, there has been no fear or hate-mongering against any one of those power origins. In the eyes of the general public, an individual with super-powers or metahuman abilities is judged on how he or she acts and what is done with those abilities, rather than how those abilities were gained. For most, there is really no difference between powers that were gained through strange experiments, random accidents or through genetic quirks of fate. Theme News Files
